Taylormade fct how does it work

How does FCT work? It starts with a small metallic sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft. The shaft is secured to the clubhead with a specially made bolt in the bottom of the clubhead. The FCT bolt is designed to be retained in the well to eliminate the chance of losing it.

The sleeve, made of high-strength T6 aluminum alloy, is ringed around the bottom with small teeth, which tightly mesh with a second ring of matching teeth within the hosel. FCT gives the golfer the ability to adjust the face to the position that they like best, which is a huge advantage. Most previous TaylorMade metalwoods can be bent to adjust the face, loft and lie angles; it happens every week on the PGA Tour in the TaylorMade Tour Trailer, as tour pros commonly request such tweaks to improve their performance.

However, the process requires a tour technician to immobilize the clubhead and bend the hosel by hand. FCT makes it possible to quickly, accurately and easily adjust the face, loft and lie angles. The clubhead features three weight ports and comes equipped with one gram and two 1-gram weights. Put the heavy weight in the heel port to promote a draw, in the toe port to promote a fade, and in the middle port to promote a straight flight.

The combined effect of FCT and MWT gives golfers an amazing amount of influence over their trajectory, and gives the R9 driver a tremendous advantage over other drivers. The company has also introduced the Burner 09 irons. There could be no sacrifice in the quality of launch angle, spin rate, peak, height and landing angle in our pursuit.

The process for making it more forgiving and long was done through thinning the clubface as much as possible to make it more flexible and faster for a higher coefficient of restitution. A custom stainless steel alloy was used for added strength, allowing 1. Inverted Cone Technology was incorporated into the back of the clubface for increased ball speed on off-centre hit, while the size of the head was increased by expanding the perimeter to ultimately increase MOI.

The width of the sole was increased to pull centre of gravity location low and back from the clubface, while the degree of offset was also increased to make it easier to square the face at impact.

The topline was thickened to give the appearance of more mass behind the ball at address and a lightweight, longer length shaft with lightweight grip was added to the long irons. The middle irons began with the seven with the goal of making it accurate and long by thinning the clubface not quite as much as the long irons, incorporating Inverted Cone Technology into the back of clubhead and expanding the size of the head.

So for those with no access to aftermarket or loose FCT Sleeves or just want to keep their warranty intact, you can now buy top shafts from Diamana, Graphite Design and Fujikura with two different FCT sleeve options.

These shafts are interchangeable with all R9 heads, Japan or US models and can be ordered from Taylormade with custom length and grip seven TM grip options. For drivers Taylormade Japan lets you choose a shaft that will give you a finished club length of anywhere between For fairway woods , Two different FCT Sleeves are available.

Here is a list of the available shafts. Awesome news! I was one of the customers who asked. Seemed kinda redundant to not offer the shafts only. I can test out the Motore Speeder with this… Great news!

I had asked for upgrade shafts as well. I have one with a Motore Speeder and the distance for myself and my other playing partners who hit the driver was not so hot. Just an update to everyone.
