What happens if you swallow a bullet casing
I am really concerned I do not have medical insurance so going to the ER would cost me an arm and a leg. If just the bullet and it's not a caliber then no biggie. If the whole bullet and brass casing, then maybe it might cause a stoppage. I would encourage him to throw it up. The danger is not in it going off but in poisoning from the powder and metal acid deterioration in his stomach from the acid.
But he will probably crap it out before it desintegrates from the acid in his stomach. Eat alot of fiber. You might want to take him in to the ER to be safe. I am assuming it was a small caliber bullet. If so then he should be fine other then some really bad stomach pains from the gun powder and one hell of a painful crap. Wow thanks for the response for your info i have strep throat mucus build up andim in very good shape notice a wrote I'm SICK in the question.

If the coin has passed through the throat, into the stomach, it should pass out from the system in less than days, and usually within 2 days.
A coin that is stuck will induce stomach or chest pain, drooling, trouble swallowing, vomiting, and fever. Most coins in the proximal and middle esophagus will not pass spontaneously and must be removed by an invasive procedure, while coins located in the distal esophagus can usually be managed by watchful waiting until they pass into the stomach.
Foreign bodies are ingested objects that can get stuck in the digestive tract and sometimes perforate pierce it. Foreign bodies may be accidentally or intentionally swallowed. Foreign bodies may cause no symptoms or may cause symptoms depending on where they become stuck. It is removed using an endoscopic grasping instrument. Coins are the most common foreign body in children that require removal from the esophagus.
When food is swallowed it typically passes through the mouth to the throat and into the esophagus, which leads to the stomach. Foreign bodies can be removed by endoscopy or by laparotomy. We present the two cases of laparoscopic removal of large sharp foreign bodies from the stomach. Laparoscopic removal of large sharp foreign bodies from the stomach is safe. Stomach acid HCl isnt strong enough to oxidize the nickel used in many coins , at least not at body temperature.
HCl will not react with copper at all as the process is energetically unfavorable. It is possible that if the copper plating was damaged a penny could partially dissolve in your stomach. The problem is that pennies minted since are mostly zinc and carry only a light coating of copper, which can be eaten away by stomach acid. The zinc, in turn, can cause lots of problems that include bleeding ulcers and vomiting.
It moves relatively intact through your digestive system and is excreted in your stool. Tabletop role-playing games.
